One of the hardest things to do as a mom is watch your baby, regardless of age, struggle. It is our nature to want to fix it and take away the pain. We want to kiss the boo-boo and make it better.
But maturity in Christ requires growth through struggle.
Scripture tells us clearly that we will have trouble (John 16:33)…
We are to rejoice in suffering (Romans 5:3)…
Count it all joy when we encounter trials (James 1:2)…
Why?
Because “…affliction produces endurance, endurance produces proven character, and proven character produces hope.” (Romans 5:3-4).
I want my sons to have endurance, to be men of character, and to have the hope that God will move on their behalf because they’ve seen Him do it before.
That kind of maturity—the creation of wisdom—comes through struggle. How can they trust God with their future if they’ve never seen Him come through for them in the past?
So my prayer today (a like or share if it’s yours too?) is that God would turn the struggles my kids currently face into hard earned wisdom…the kind that will make them warriors for His Kingdom.
And…for mom’s heart to fully trust God while I’m watching it happen ;)
Amen?
Amen.
Y’all, this is right out of my own prayer journal. I feel you on this one.
