As moms, it’s easy to look at our lack and get depressed about all the things we don’t naturally bring to the table for our kids. I look at the fun mom and I see my lack. More than that, I look at the fun mom and think my kids are going to love her more than they love me. What does it matter if I can reach their hearts in the tough times if another mom already has their hearts captured through her fun bubbly personality? Wishing to be something we are not is enough to drive a mama mad with envy and frustration. But I’ve found that the best cure for a mom who’s caught in what she’s not, is to focus on what she’s got.
