King Nebuchadnezzar was in a furious rage when he asked Daniel’s friends why they wouldn’t worship his image of gold. They had the audacity to refuse to bow down and worship the statue made in the King’s image. Did they not know who he was? Were they not aware that he had conquered their land and brought them into captivity? Did they not understand that they would be thrown into a furnace so hot that it would immediately snuff out the lives of those who were charged with throwing them into the fire?

What Nebuchadnezzar was about to find out was that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew exactly who their God was and because they knew this, they had no fear of what Nebuchadnezzar could do.

Are you willing to do the hard work of trusting in God? When life is going well, do you praise him? When you face difficulty, are you able to trust his goodness and faithfulness? Listen to today’s podcast episode from Becky Daye, based on Daniel 3:16-17.
