You know those skeletons in your closet you hope no one ever finds out about? I have a few of those. I think most everyone does. Mistakes we made in college, stupid choices made in haste, financial decisions with long-term effects, shortcuts that ended up hurting more than helping. Choices truly do have the power to cripple us, affecting our futures in ways we never thought they could. Sometimes they come back to haunt us and get thrown up in our faces when we least expect it. Even when we’ve repented for those sins and asked God to forgive us, we still remember, and that remembering can cause anxiety. But I’ve learned this: when forgiven sins resurface, it’s never God who brought them up.
