A Prayer to Lay Your Pride Aside and Ask God for Help

A few nights ago my husband came home to find me at the tail end of a bad day. I don’t remember now why it was so bad, but I’m sure it had something to do with an overloaded schedule, unmet expectations, and no idea what we were having for dinner. As I walked out the door to take one of our sons to his practice and pick the other one up from the high school, he asked what the dinner plan was. In a huff, I threw up my hands and fussed I have no idea I’m juggling all the things and I can’t juggle dinner tonight too. I think he knew I was sincere even if my tone was a little fussy.

Today’s devotion and prayer is excerpted from Brooke McGlothlin’s book, Praying Mom: Making Prayer the First and Best Response to Motherhood.
