Losing control of our emotions at its heart is about a lack of power. Before I had children, I didn’t realize I had a problem controlling my emotions. I knew I liked being in control, but my situations pre-children never caused me to lose control of myself. I look back now with the perspective of almost 20 years and I can see hints here and there, but I really didn’t know I had something sinister lurking in my heart until the right set of circumstances made it spill out.
