I was maybe five or six years old when I said “the prayer.” My memory isn’t perfect, but I remember sitting on my daddy’s knee at our dining room table and praying to receive Jesus as my savior. And with that decision, the whole trajectory of my life was changed. No, I didn’t fully understand the weight of my words. I would spend the next several decades learning what it means to put my faith in Jesus, and truthfully, I’m still learning. But I was set on a course that day.
