There have been many times when someone would give me a little pep talk and inevitably say, God doesn’t give you more than you can handle. I would be facing something difficult and to hear this platitude that was meant to encourage me, it was as if they were saying, I had what it took to face the given situation because otherwise God wouldn’t have allowed me to go through it. Sometimes I was told God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Aside from the fact that this isn’t true, the problem is that it only made me feel worse.
