I got engaged and my future husband’s job forced him to move to a remote part of Virginia near the Richmond area. I went with his parents to visit one weekend and to help him find a place for him to live and I was floored at what I saw. In a matter of minutes, it was clear to me that I did not want to live there after our wedding. But as my mama told me on the phone, “Brooke, if you want to marry that boy, that’s where you’re going to have to go.”
Today’s devotion and prayer is taken from Brooke McGlothlin’s book, Praying Mom: Making Prayer the First and Best Response to Motherhood.
