A Prayer for Personal Godliness

APPLE PODCASTS    †     SPOTIFY

Our oldest son ran ahead of us on the pine needle softened trail as we hiked through Vermont’s Green Mountains. Coming on a section boggy from recent rains, he trotted along the edge. Suddenly, he plunged sideways down a track departing from the blazed trail. “Stop!” I shouted. He pushed forward, eager to continue on his own adventure. I saw piles of branches barring the path ahead, with potential for snakes and other dangers. “You’re going the wrong way! Come back!” He took a few more steps, branches snaring his legs as the track dwindled to overgrowth. “Awwwww!” he said, turning to rejoin our path. I breathed a sigh of relief even as I felt for his disappointment. He soon found more woodland delights to content himself as we continued.
