We are the ones who wake early to make lunches for school. We wash dishes until well past midnight and fold laundry without seizing. We are the boo boo kissers, the shoe putter-onners, and the seatbelt checkers. We are in constant motion all day long and in the middle of the night when our babies cry out for milk or our children have a bad dream, we are the ones who leap out of bed at their first sound of need.
We’re moms. This is what we do. So much of our lives are spent serving in the small ways, and when added up, matter in life-sized proportions. But most days, our acts of service happen without reward or recognition from others.
