Heart Change
Verse: “The Lord said: ‘These people approach me with their speeches to honor me with lip-service— yet their hearts are far from me, and human rules direct their worship of me…” (Isaiah 29:13).
Prayer: May (your son’s name) honor God with his whole heart, and not just his lips.
Obedience
Verse: “Someone came and reported to them, ‘Look! The men you put in jail are standing in the temple and teaching the people.’ Then the commander went with the servants and brought them in without force, because they were afraid the people might stone them. After they brought them in, they had them stand before the Sanhedrin, and the high priest asked, ‘Didn’t we strictly order you not to teach in this name? Look, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.’ Peter and the apostles replied, ‘We must obey God rather than people’” (Acts 5:25-29).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) obey God rather than man.”
Overcoming Fear
Verse: “Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) not be afraid or dismayed, but strong and courageous, for the Lord his God is with him wherever he goes.”
Integrity
Verse: “Don’t let anyone despise your youth, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity” (1 Timothy 4:12).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) be an example to believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
Wisdom
Verse: “I am teaching you the way of wisdom; I am guiding you on straight paths” (Proverbs 4:11).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) listen to wisdom and allow himself to be guided on straight paths.”
Pride
Verse: “Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of the Lord our God” (Psalm 20:7).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) take his greatest pride in serving and honoring the name of the Lord his God.”
Honor
Verse: “Honor everyone. Love the brothers and sisters. Fear God. Honor the emperor” (1 Peter 2:17).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) honor everyone, love his brothers and sisters, fear God, and honor those in authority over him.”
Purity
Verse: “Now the goal of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith” (1 Timothy 1:5).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) have love that comes from a pure heart and good conscience and a sincere faith.”
A Servant’s Heart
Verse: “Serve with a good attitude, as to the Lord and not to people, knowing that whatever good each one does, slave or free, he will receive this back from the Lord” (Ephesians 6:7-8).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) serve wholeheartedly, as if he were serving You, Lord, and not men” (Ephesians 6:7).
Salvation
Verse: “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).
Prayer: “May (your son’s name) confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, and be saved.”

Are you the mom of one (or more) of “THOSE” boys?
The ones who are 250% boy, full of energy, act before they think, are misunderstood by those around them, and basically leave you full on ragged at the end of the day?
I get it. I’m raising two of them myself.
Years ago, when my boys were very young, I felt God tell me that they needed someone to fight for them, and that He had chosen that person to be me. After spending years learning how (and really, I’m still learning), I created the Fight Like a Boymom Program, a roadmap to raising hard-to-handle boys. Inside, you’ll learn to fight FOR your sons instead of AGAINST them and change the entire tone of your parenting.
We see you mom, juggling all the things in the midst of a global pandemic. You’re trying to take care of the kids, your job, the house, the groceries, and everything else your family needs. It’s not easy. In fact, it’s downright hard.
Unprecedented times call for unprecedented parenting.

This article has really blessed me. Though I have missed out of some opportunities to go out with my teenage son. I have learnt the importance of date. Thank you.
Thank you! This is something I definitely need to do more. I used to be better at scheduling dates when my boys were all very little. Now that they are older (elementary) our dates have fallen off. I want to reclaim that one-on-one time with them again before they get any older. It would make my heart to so happy to know that my boys would still hang out with me when they get to be teenagers and beyond.
Thank you so MUCH from the bottom of my heart for this article. Sharing your stories is an encouragement as well as (another) reminder to me that I only have my son for so long. It brings tears to my eyes and heart just to think that one day my son won’t have time for me should the Lord bless him with a wife and kids. I am scheduling a day date for today as a surprise for when he comes home from the bus stop. My son is 14 (going on 15) and loves cars. I’m thinking of just grabbing his fav at McDonald’s (his fav restaurant of all time haha) and strolling around together with his playlist choice of music. Again, thank you. The scriptures at the end touched my heart. I’ve read Luke more than once and know that verse like the back of my hand. But the Holy Spirit struck a soft spot in my heart this time around. (Luke 6:31 “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.”) It ALWAYS feels special when someone does something for me out of their heart and that verse just spoke differently to me this time.
You’re so welcome!
