We long for our daughters to be women who stand out as being different from the world, who will become role models for others to follow, and to be women who are trusted by those around them. I mean, doesn’t it feel good for us as moms when someone tells us how much they admire our daughter because she has these qualities? But is it enough for our daughters to do the right thing, be a good example, and for others to notice? I don’t think so.
As believers our motives for all that we do should always be ultimately for the glory of God. These Christ-like character qualities should come from a heart that is being transformed by God and be lived out so that we can point a watching world to the Savior.
4 Verses to Pray to Help Your Daughter Be a Woman of Integrity
1.To walk a blameless walk.
Help my daughter walk in a way that she not be found guilty of anything that would cast a shadow over Your name. Help her to walk in a way that is blameless, for Your glory (Proverbs 28:6).
2. Give no reason for anyone to speak poorly.
Help my daughter to live in such a way that anyone who speaks poorly of her will be proven wrong so that Your name will be glorified (1 Peter 3:16).
3. To be trustworthy.
Father, you detest lying lips. Help my daughter to be trustworthy so that Your name will be glorified (Proverbs 12:22).
4. To do what is right.
Father, please enable my daughter to make the right choices, in private and when others are watching, so that You will be glorified no matter where she is (Proverbs 21:3).
SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT
Integrity is woven into all of our decisions, such as when we choose to take responsibility for mistakes and actions, choose not to complain, when we are the same person with our family as we are with those outside the home, when we are faithful to do the work we are responsible for, when we choose not to gossip, when we don’t cheating to get ahead, or when we value other people’s time. We can pray that our daughters will be women of integrity but then we must live it out in front of them.
